* I was gifted this fabulous bag for the purpose of a review, but I have loved this company and style of bag from afar for a long time. All opinions are my own and I am a smug, new bag owner.
Picture this if you will…
I have embraced a kind of ‘green shopping bag fits all’ mantra and am regularly seen swinging the old, faded and stained shopping bag around. Swimming lessons? Bang the towel in. Playground run? Cram it with drink bottles, hats and Little Ponies. Shopping? Well, why yes; always handy when your ‘just one or two things’ bears the weight of a weekly shop.
But actually…not quite so cool.
You see…It’s just that I’ve hit that awkward ‘in-between’ stage.
That point where the kids and I have absolutely outgrown the nappy bag, yet not quite ready to free wheel along anywhere without my mummy ammunition. I still need the sun cream, hats, drinks, snacks, sticker books and spare undies. Then throw in ‘my’ stuff. Wallet, keys, brush, phone; blah blah blah…. It really starts to add up and I had completely struggled to find something that is sophisticated and stylish, yet parent practical.
Until I came across the divine Chuchka Neoprene Tote.
It is big.
Oh my mummy friends; big is beautiful. Not clunky big; just practical for all the ‘stuff’. It has a quick, one press magnetic clasp at the top and sides, and two good sized zipped pockets inside.
It is durable.
Made of neoprene (think flexible rubber material), with rope handles, it means they are…are you ready, mums…MACHINE WASHABLE! Spilled drink bottles, rejected food remnants, unidentified, yet sticky kids stuff? Clear it out and pop it through.
It is classy.
I wanted something that I could swing between swimming lessons, a work meeting or a catch up with the girls. This Raven Tote covers all of these, whilst still looking sleek…even when nude Barbie is hanging out the top.
It is local.
Chuchka is the work of a local Bondi mum, Stefanie, who clearly understands the struggle of blending practical, plush and price. We all want something stylish, yet sensible and affordable, and I love the idea of helping to support a local business.
Oh…and did I mention the clutch purse inside? Perfect for those times you actually make a child free escape and wish to swing your arms loosely about with just a pretty clutch to play with.
So a big double thumbs up from this happy camper, and I will be strutting my new bag all over the place and giving it a real working over.
I will promise not to stroke it or whisper to it…in public.
Thanks Stef and the team at Chuchka; the Raven is divine.
