The
live orchestra is totally belting out a stirling rendition of Beyonce’…Who run the world?
(GIRLS!) Who run the world? (GIRLS!) as I sweep across the stage in my flowing
gown and flawless makeup. With only a small sideways head tilt, a beatific smile
and a wave to the fans, I make my way with perfect stiletto strides to centre stage
where the talented, This Mum’s Life blogger, is holding my gleaming, golden award
aloft towards me. Oh wait…what?? It’s a nomination? Not quite the “winner” as
such?

Aaannnndddd…cut the music!!…let’s cut Beyonce’ as the band screeches to an involuntary halt….
Of
course, I wouldn’t be here today in my imaginary Bloggers Award Winning daydream,
without the talented This Mum’s Life, who boldly nominated me for the award.
Anyone who manages to mix motherhood, TV and wine together in their bio has
always got my unfounded respect. More specifically, if you haven’t yet read her revealing A Weighty Issue post in particular, where she somehow tapped straight into my
brain and shared all my own body issues and disappointments, click on it now…beautifully
written and bravely shared. She is talented, always up for a giggle and a word of
encouragement, and when I see her posts pop up on my feed, I am there. Thank you so much for my nomination; I truly am honoured you thought of me.

So
here we go…
The questions that This Mums Life has asked me to share…
Settle
back, top up your glass and welcome to my world…
1. What is your biggest blogging highlight so far?
here we go…
The questions that This Mums Life has asked me to share…
Settle
back, top up your glass and welcome to my world…
1. What is your biggest blogging highlight so far?
Two have been amazing and are exceptionally tough to split, so I’m
going to put them both up there…
going to put them both up there…
The
first was being asked to be in a segment for Ch 9’s, The Today Show, as a ‘Melbourne Mummy Blogger’…me…on national telly????!! The kids kept their fingers out of their noses and I didn’t
completely humiliate myself. Win win.

The
second was being asked to review The Langham Hotel, Melbourne (#lovinglangham), which included a
night with my friend, access to the Club Room, and being referred to as the “Guest
in Residence.” Ooh la la indeed! They made me believe my blog had ‘arrived’.
2. What is your favourite city in the world?

2. What is your favourite city in the world?
I am already happily living in the world’s most liveable city ,
Melbourne. Although, you can take the
girl out of the country, you can’t take the country out of the girl. I sometimes crave the smell of hay and the
beautiful sunsets of my home town. It will
always be home to me, regardless of the amazing cities I have visited
around the world.

3. What are
your top 3 tv series of all time?
3. Gavin and Stacey….Smithy;
you will always be my pin-up and Husband and I regularly crack each other up
when we order takeaway and holler, “Did somebody order a Chinese?”

2. Lost…I was all
over it…I was sure I had it figured out…until that pesky polar bear thing
appeared and then it kinda ‘lost’ me. I still watched it through, granted this
was over quite a few years. Despite watching it till the very end, I honestly
still don’t really know what happened, but I was hooked.

1. Love My Way; An
Australian series starring Claudia Karvan that had me from the opening credits
and then took the wind from my sails in that one scene…if you’ve seen it, you
know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t seen it, do!

4. What
did you want to be when you were growing up?
Was totally going to be Ally McBeal from said show; though a bit
of a ditzy lawyer, I imagined myself working in a firm, with amazing, corporate clothes,
quick lunchtime salads, wild office romances and winning cases simply by speaking from the heart. Not
so. After a few years at Law School, I quickly discovered it was way too cut
throat (and hard) for me and became a teacher; what a gift to work with our young people and much more my style.

5. If you could go back to being a certain age in
your life, what would it be?
I’m thinking maybe 4. No bills, no stress, lots of friends and my big brother and sisters,
confident nudey runs and lots of tree climbing.

6. Who is your favourite comedian?
An
Aussie guy, Joel Creasey…WARNING…beware of pelvic floor incidents…hysterical…totally
want to be in his posse’.

7. What was the last thing you saw at the cinema?
8. What has been the most
romantic moment of your life so far?
romantic moment of your life so far?
Just let me gush a little here. It was our Wedding Day and I
will never forget the smile that lit up my husband’s face when he turned and beamed
at me standing at the top of the Church. Absolutely my ‘go to’ memory on a
crappy day.

9. If you were to blog
about another subject, what would it be?
about another subject, what would it be?
Not cooking.
Not health and fitness.
Not craft activities.
Stick with something you know, they say…so :
Teaching.
I loved it and I miss the classroom and the kids.
10. Snog, marry, avoid: Mr
Bloom, Andy Day, Ben Cajee (google them if you don’t know who they are!)
Bloom, Andy Day, Ben Cajee (google them if you don’t know who they are!)
I’m an Aussie; totally had to go to Mr Google for help here.
Mr Bloom looked a bit too dopey – avoid.
Andy Day has that cutesy boy next door thing going on – snog
Ben Cajee is the last one left. Despite being a massive
cougar I feel, marry I must.

bit of fun if you would like to play…)
