AND THE WINNER IS….SYDNEY!!!

I had a bit of the ‘ho-hums’ recently….

You know those bad boys? We came back from holidays, and I looked around and thought, ‘here we go again…same old, same old. GROUNDHOG DAY!’

I decided I am one of those people who crave a bit of a change every now and then, to blow out the days of beige.

So I gave myself a shake and did what every self-respecting person does…I logged on to a bit of internet shopping…thought perhaps a bright new rug, or some colour popping cushions might spice up my life….

Instead…

WE ARE MOVING TO SYDNEY!

Pretty much immediately. For 6 months.

Husband’s work needed someone there. We chatted. We wondered….and next minute…BOOM! We are off!

It has happened so quickly, and as I am sure you can imagine, I am…well…slightly frazzled. Instead of “hurry up and eat your cereal”, it is now “PLEASE DO NOT UNPACK THAT BOX”!!! (Why are my children obsessed with delivering items back to me that I have already packed…must slap that tape down faster…but always that hesitation that I might still need something….AAAHHHHH)

On top of that, Husband has GONE. Already! He is flying home for the next few weekends, until we all drive up together…mmmm…looking forward to that road trip…not! 
“Are we there yet? Are we there yet? MUM! S/he’s looking out my window. Are we there yet?!!!”
Anyway…

Am I excited?

ABSOLUTELY. 

I have only visited there twice and loved it both times; sure, I had no children with me, but this time we can do all the kiddy things without looking like idiots…look out Taronga Zoo, the Sydney Opera House & Luna Park. We are coming to town. Is it slightly tragic to admit I have even got a bit excited about watching The Bachelor in Sydney town itself? It is? OK…I won’t go there…

So apologies for being a little quiet on the blogging front recently…missing it desperately, but seriously, have I got some great material throwing itself in my lap!!! The joys of being a single mum, searching for accommodation in Sydney, finding the perfect person to stay in our house, the dreaded road trip, packing up our world and throwing ourselves into a whole new adventure….
