Moving to Sydney has been incredible.
We have had the opportunity to do so many fantastic things and we have genuinely been working our way through our very own Sydney Bucket List.
One of the things I have wanted to do since day one when I hit the city and looked skywards, was pay a visit to the ‘Jetson’s Tower’; AKA the Sydney Tower Eye. If you’re not on my wave length here, picture a giant pole with a circular room on the top, 250m above Sydney. Yep; now we’re talking.
I am a bit of a scaredy cat, but weirdly OK with heights and I was so keen to see the grandeur of this city laid out before me. We were gifted tickets to head in to check it out and my husband and I were lucky enough to have a family member mind the kids. Even so, it is perfectly fine for the littles and I actually think mine would have loved it.
It is super easy to find when you access it via the Westfield Shopping Centre off Market St, and it was a pretty non existent queue (we got there about 2pm on a Saturday afternoon). We strolled on in and donned our incredibly ‘on style’ 4D cardboard glasses. “Ho Hum,” I thought. “Just a bit of promotional blah blah blah. Let’s get up to the real event”. But hang on, people; there is a 4D cinema show included in your admission and though it only goes for 5-10 minutes, I just LOVED it. Despite my husband trying to reach out to grab the flying parrot and me ducking when the shark lunged at me, it was so well done and really put us in a great mood heading off to the lifts.
45 seconds in a lift is actually a long time. When your ears start to get a little poppy you are reminded that this tower is incredibly high.
Take a deep breath and take it all in.
Sydney is a superb city and we had a blast trying to spot different icons, local beaches (even trying to work out where our place was), the various islands spotted about the harbour, areas we had visited, and so on. My husband literally ‘went to town’, pointing out different roads, motorways, anywhere there was some form of engineering works being done, football ovals he has visited, routes he has cycled…oh be still the excitement!! I slipped off and recorded a facebook live (check it out here), though I am still new to this and genuinely feel mildly embarrassed if other people see me chatting away.

Rightio….it is well worth the *$28 per adult and I am so pleased that I have ticked this one off my list.
If you are a bit more of a daredevil and want an experience you will NEVER forget, there is also a Skywalk Tour. Yep; get clicked on and walk about outside with a tour guide.
