My two year old daughter shone centre stage this afternoon
as she belted out Jingle Bells like a pro.
It’s just that…well…you see, it wasn’t exactly her
concert.
concert.
It was her brother’s 3 year old kinder break up, but she
wasn’t stepping aside for anyone!

And so another year is drawing to a close, but this innocent
display of Christmas spirit got me thinking…..
display of Christmas spirit got me thinking…..
This year, I , too, jumped up and gave it a crack. Most of
the time I didn’t know the words and occasionally struck a wrong note, but I
kept on singing. Feeling oh so jaded just sitting back in the crowd, I gave
this world of blogging a go and truly found something for ‘me’. Don’t get me
wrong; I am fantastically lucky and never underestimate my blessings.

But my
daughter’s eyes were shining with mischief and joy as she waved back at me.

Just as each and
every time one of you liked a post, or shot me off a lovely comment, a little
bit more of ‘me’ came back to play – not the ‘mummy’ me, more the ‘new’
me…the ‘whole’ me. And I like this
‘new’ me.

My heart swelled with pride as my son actually welcomed his
little sister up with him – even in front of the ‘cool’ boys. He wrapped his
arms around her and tried to teach her the actions to Rudolph – we all need a bit of that, right??

“It’s time for the good times,
Forget about the bad times (oh yeah)…..
We need a holiday!”
It’s time for me to go eat buckets of bad stuff, drink too
much wine and enjoy the next few weeks with my family
